About the Teacher
My name is Debbie Robertson. I have been teaching Family and Consumer Science at ECMA for 7 years. I originally received my degree in Secondary English Education, but by a stroke of luck, I found Family and Consumer Science. This is a fun class to teach because we learn about life skills that are useful to every student now and in the future. I am a self proclaimed "nerd" who loves learning, so I research new ideas and projects for my classes all the time!
I am married to Jason Robertson (www.ricetogrits.com) and we have four beautiful children: ages 15, 14, 12, and 9. We are a soccer family. In fact, Jason and I met on the soccer field. I have been playing or involved in soccer for 29 years, since I was six years old!!!
I have my Master's of Science degree in Brain Based Teaching and Learning and my Specialist degree in Brain-Based Teacher Leadership through Nova SouthEastern University. I learned many great brain based strategies to use in my classroom to engage students and make learning real.
I am looking forward to another great school year and all the exciting learning activities we will be working on in F.A.C.S.
Please feel free to contact me.
