I think that would be a great idea! It would give the students some responsibility!

I have seen some sites where students make aprons for sale. You can even make aprons with names, school logos, etc.

I have done a snack shop with my 8th graders for several years. They learn so much and have a great time researching recipes, creating packaging and advertising. Happy to share what I have with you! Drop me an email

I would love to see what you come up with on your business unit. I too was thinking of doing this just yesterday with my FACS I students (7th and 8th grade). I teach this class for a HS credit, but as you know their mind set is still the same. It is difficult to teach this age "real world" situations because they just don't understand. It is hard for me to just do the basics of business. I would love to see any units you have on this topic and others as well. love the site.

Melissa, would you be willing to share any information on how you run your school bakery? I teach high schoolers and we need a fundraiser idea.
